Comparisons

Compare contractor software by workflow, cost, and plan limits. Written comparison guides.

We include useful specialist options whether or not a publisher affiliate program has been confirmed. Inclusion is not an approved partnership or a complete market review. Matching uses documented workflow, trade and business-size fit, not affiliate status or commission rates.

Vendor-researched, not hands-on tested or ranked. Research and pricing notes.

Pricing NotesCompanyCam
  • Pricing page lists Core with 1 included user and $29 per added user on annual billing. Its help article describes Core for 1-2 users, so confirm the exact seat total at checkout. Monthly billing and add-ons differ. A 14-day trial is advertised.
  • Official help pages differ on Canadian sales features: the invoice guide includes Canada, while the sales overview still describes proposals and invoices as US-only. Confirm the current Canadian rollout, plan entitlement and payment options before relying on these features.
CamXPricing page renders an annual Essentials card at $69/month, $828/year, with three users and $29/month per extra user. Pro and Advanced add reporting and AI scope. Confirm currency, actual monthly-versus-annual rate, add-on seats, privacy and export terms. BuildX CMS is coming soon and excluded.

What should decide your shortlist?

Try a new booking, a rescheduled visit, an estimate approval, and a completed invoice. Have the technician and office administrator test their own tasks. Check the exact plan needed for accounting sync and the full cost for your user count; the starting price alone is not a like-for-like comparison.

Compare access and implementation

List everyone who needs access, including the owner, estimator, project manager, field crew, bookkeeper, and customers. Ask which roles need paid access. Then test an approved change order through budget updates, customer communication, and invoicing. Agree on who will prepare your cost library and import existing records.

Contractor Foreman advertises a trial; JobTread describes a money-back guarantee on monthly subscriptions rather than a free trial. Confirm current terms before signing up. Vendor sources: Contractor Foreman plans and JobTread pricing.

Make the decision with your team

For each must-have task, record whether the software can complete it, which plan it requires, and whether your team can repeat it without help. Include setup effort and total recurring cost. A demo that uses your own example is more useful than a generic feature tour.

Before committing, keep a written record of the required plan, your sample-job results, setup responsibilities, unresolved questions, and a usable export sample. For an estimating-focused demo, follow the estimating evaluation guide.

Research scope

These comparisons use vendor documentation checked October 2, 2026. They are not hands-on test results or ranked recommendations. Prices may use different billing periods, user allowances, and currencies; consult each listing and vendor source for qualifications. No numerical ratings have been assigned.
