DripJobs
DripJobs is a candidate for painting contractors managing inquiries, proposals and sales follow-up. Evaluate what happens when a lead changes status, not only how many automated messages the product offers. The current profile is based on vendor documentation, not hands-on testing.
Where it fits alongside estimating tools
A painting business can use a sales pipeline to distinguish an inquiry, a scheduled estimate, an unaccepted proposal and approved work. The potential benefit is making the office’s next action visible instead of leaving it in someone’s inbox. That is a different buying priority from measuring drawings or calculating production rates. Define whether you need a follow-up system, deeper estimating or both, and inspect the resulting handoffs before replacing an existing process.
Check users and add-ons
The plan page lists Pro at $97 monthly and Advanced at $147 monthly, each with one admin user. Texting, production-rate estimating, job costing and additional users require separate cost checks; the current pricing documentation describes no free trial. Confirm currency, normal renewal charges, onboarding scope and the exact paid package. Broad feature headlines should not be read as proof that every estimating or communication tool is included in the entry price.
A practical proposal and follow-up test
Use a fictional repaint with two finish options and a test email address you control. Move the inquiry into an estimate appointment, prepare the proposal and leave it unaccepted. Inspect which follow-up is queued and which office role can change it. Reject the proposal, record an opt-out and verify that further messages stop. Then create a separate approved example with a customer-requested extra and a rescheduled crew visit. Follow the approved scope into the invoice without overwriting the original record.
Run the example on the quoted tier, including any add-ons you intend to purchase. Check what happens if an office user marks the wrong stage or changes the customer contact. Ask how edits, cancellations and duplicate leads affect pending communications. Keep real customer contacts out until permission, data handling and the communication process are agreed. Software automation does not itself establish lawful consent to send marketing messages.
US and Canadian feature boundaries
Official help identifies US and Canadian businesses as supported audiences. It separately states that ACH is unavailable for Canadian accounts. Demonstrate the actual payment workflow needed in your country instead of assuming the US feature list applies unchanged. Confirm card/e-transfer handling, subscription and invoice currency, fees and refunds. Check accounting connections against your own accounting edition and required sync direction.
DripJobs documents iOS and Android apps included with subscriptions. It describes internet-dependent synchronization and recommends reliable connectivity. Repeat the proposal test on your phone, including photos, notes and customer updates. Check whether configuration still needs the browser dashboard and what happens during a lost connection; do not assume unrestricted offline operation.
Prepare the rollout and exit
Agree one set of pipeline stages and name the person who owns each handoff. Import a small test set and inspect duplicates before transferring a large customer list. Decide what happens to outstanding proposals, reminders and unpaid invoices during cutover. Ask for an export that preserves customer details, proposal versions, approvals and attachments, and identify anything that must remain in the old system. Include a replacement office user in training so the process does not depend on one person.
Compare the buying priorities
Compare PaintScout when painting-specific estimating and production assumptions are the main problem; compare Jobber or Tradify when service scheduling and invoicing dominate. Use the painting buying guide, demo checklist and cost calculator with the same user roles and written quotes. No close-rate improvement, profitability result, numerical rating or approved affiliate relationship is claimed.
